Delivering more than green energy – delivering lasting positive community impacts

Ørsted is the global leader in offshore wind and one of the largest renewable energy companies in the world. In the Isle of Man, Ørsted is also the headline sponsor of the Bushy’s TT Village for the third year running. It’s great to have such a green energy leader on board!

Ørsted is proposing to develop the Island’s first offshore wind farm, Mooir Vannin. Located in an area of seabed awarded by the Isle of Man Government that is 6 to 12 nautical miles off the east coast, the planned Mooir Vannin Offshore Wind Farm has the potential to contribute to the Island’s net-zero, economic and energy security ambitions.

Ørsted and the Mooir Vannin team play an active role in the local community by helping to support a number of organisations, events and initiatives, including:

  • The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI)
  • Manx Wildlife Trust’s ‘Make Space for Nature’ initiative
  • The 2024 Gaia Earth art installation exhibition at St Thomas’s Church

Globally, Ørsted is the market leader in offshore wind and is constructing the world’s largest offshore wind farms off the UK’s East Coast. In addition to offshore wind farms the company also develops, constructs and operates onshore wind farms, solar farms, energy storage facilities, and bioenergy plants.

It is recognised on the CDP Climate Change A-List as a global leader on climate action and was the first energy company in the world to have its science-based net-zero emissions target validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). Ørsted employs approx. 8,000 people worldwide, including over 1,100 in the UK.
